Do I Need a Coach?

So how do you know if you need a coach?

Coaching works best when there is a significant gap between what you have and what you want. You need to be willing to change and to experiment with new ways of doing things. Is there a gap and are you willing to experiment?

The most critical knowledge is self-knowledge. Coaching offers four ways to help an individual move forward:

  1. Perspective — gaining an overall big-picture of your current situation
  2. Clarity — discerning actual issues, obstacles and options
  3. Focus — discovering a unique path forward and developing a decision-making grid.
  4. Action — accountability to translating decisions into long-term, new behavior.

Coaching can be the catalyst for new paradigms, personal change, and enhanced performance. Personal development coaching (sometimes known as life coaching), is a person-focused conversation that concentrates on bringing a breakthrough empowering movement forward in life.

Personal Development coaching can assist you in:

  • Dealing with change and transitions
  • Preparing for a new job assignment
  • Managing conflict and stress
  • Setting a new direction
  • Improving self-awareness and understanding
  • Improving team role and function
  • Clarifying values, vision and contribution
  • Developing decision-making grids
